April 1, 2020, Ontario MOH media briefing

Their feed broke down partway through the reporter questions and it never resumed.

Plus reporters often ask the same questions that were asked the day before.

Dr. Yaffe said that their March 31 reports (given today) were:
- total of 2392 cases, and increase of 426 from the day before.
- 37 deaths, 12 outbreak deaths but she wasn't sure if those were in addition to the 37
- 689 resolved cases
- 332 patients in hospital
- 145 in ICU, 98 on ventilators
- in the last 24 hours, 6345 people were tested, and there's a backlog of 3100

A reporter from the Star said that somebody there did a death count using the individual public health units, and it added up to 68, not 37. Dr.Yaffe said that was unexpected to her, she didn't understand it. Obviously this will have been her first item of business after the media thing was over.

Dr. Williams repeated his same point as yesterday that if people want to go out for a walk or a run they should plan ahead and not go to places that are too crowded to distance themselves. Also suggested that anyone over 70 shouldn't even go out for a walk (hide under the bed??), get groceries brought to them. But still didn't say there wold be a lockdown. No groups over 5 though, or fines will begin.

The assumption seems to be that now the big surge will begin.
