That is the most despicable part of this whole thing; metrolinx appears to be a 'make work' project or it is in readiness for something like pan am games or Olympics, because it definitely is not to serve the residents of t.o.

I finally decided I had enough and I'm moving the first week of July. Sounds like just in time according to this latest situation (I received the notice a couple days ago). The move is going to cost me over $200 more per month (not to mention a few expenses that always comes with moving) which is putting me extremely close to my upper limit in what I can afford. I would have preferred to stay if I could. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about it. My business requires a quiet environment and I was relying on getting that break from the noise after 5pm on weekdays and all weekend long. With the extended hours there is absolute no way to make it work here.

I'm actually on Heintzman but the pile driving affects my business and my body. I'm also dealing with the condo construction here but at least with them I know exactly when they're working.

I'm not hearing any suggestions here...I'm a homeowner and can't just pick up and move.

The plan as I hear it is to run 500 diesel trains through here everyday. This would effectively turn west Toronto into a noisy toxic wasteland. There is no justification for this (other than to support urban sprawl?), and as residents of Toronto we will not accept this destruction of our health, homes, and wealth.

I wouldnt be surprised if this plan doubles the smog level in Toronto. The mayor should be thinking of the lost tax revenue too, as people choose to commute to the city.

The allen expressway was stopped. This project must/will be stopped.

where do we begin?

I've sent letters to my provincial & federal mpp, as well as Dalton McGuinty, but we all know politicians dont act until their public image is threatened. Only the people (with the help of the media) will effect change.

If everyone could please go to the Clean Train Coalition website at http://www.cleantrain.ca and follow our directions to go onto Metrolinx's website to make your comments directly. They must include and review every single comment in their EA process. There are different areas you can comment on and the Environment is the MOST important for them to receive comments on. Today is the last day for one deadline.

It is only by flooding their comments portal that you have the opportunity to formally have your comments and complaints logged and included in the document that will go to the Ministry of the Environment for approval on the EA. If you go on independently, it is difficult to navigate and get to the right location in order to make your comments. When you do, you must make sure that you use the word 'environment' immediately in your first sentence so that it is catalogued properly. They will discard comments that don't fit into the very narrow parameters. Remember, we all need to work together collectively to affect the change we want to see. Please put up posters, hand out flyers, get the petition signed (you can download it from our site). Many of you are already involved but we need more. There are over a quarter of a million people along the corridor who are affected in one way or another by this stupid project including thousands of children. It's not just the pile driving that is the issue but the reason why it is being done. The pile driving will stop eventually but diesel trains can last for over 30 years!

This is our Allen Expressway and we can get this stopped if we all work together. We might not be in a rich area like Cedarvale or Forest Hill but we are taxpayers.
