Ghost stories

Sunday October 30

7 pm - 9 pm

Kids' DIY Greenhouse

Kids are making a greenhouse at MacGregor Park this summer. The greenhouse is DIY PVC which can be designed and built by children, then used for the early seeding of vegetables and a sheltered herb garden in the spring.

All children are welcome to participate - those 6 and up will be best equipped with the necessary motor and cognitive skills.

Every Saturday between 11am and 1pm, until it’s finished. MacGregor Park is located just north of College on Lansdowne.

[This is a creation by donation project.]

June 17, 24 and July 1

We are so delighted to be entering the warm seasons with a newly renovated field house!!! As anyone who regularly visits MacGregor Park knows, these improvements have been a long time coming and are the result of the combined efforts of many people in the neighbourhood, Parks and Recreation staff, our City Councillor's office, CELOS and with advice from local architect Rohan Walters.

In the past, the Art Club has worked and performed mostly outside in the park. But now we want to celebrate our beautiful new space with intimate gatherings inside the field house.

Jane Wells, our writer/director has been continuing her research into our local history (remember Mrs. MacGregor and Archibald MacGregor?) and writing stories for us (her own imaginary extrapolations!) based on her discoveries.

Some hints that we have gotten from Jane about her new stories are that there used to be two rope factories in the neighbourhood. We will be making 'rope art', dolls, animals, macrame, cat's cradles and anything else we can think of from rope, string and wool.

Marina DeLuca-Howard will be manning a cooking fire, creating a delicious and healthful repast.

These are the long days of the year and we will celebrate until late with a music sing-a-long...maybe we'll learn an Irish song or two in memory of the early Irish settlers in our 'hood.

The 'Coffee House' will be:
3:30 - 5:30 Rope Arts
5:30 - 7:00 Cooking Fire
7:00 - 7:30 Story Telling
7:30 - 9:00 Music Sing-a-long
Please drop by and visit us in the field house... Free to Everyone!!!

PS Someone walked off with our flag, but we will still hang something colourful in the tree as a sign that 'Art Club is in Session!'.

The MacGregor Park Art Club is funded and supported by the Toronto Arts Council, Toronto Parks and Recreation, Friends & Neighbours
